I don’t complain much but…I use expandable drums for contour sanding on my drill press. I placed an order with “Supergrit.com” on Sunday and they said they would notify me when the items shipped. Now today (Wednesday) I received my order but have yet to be notified. Am I entitled to anything? Btw I hope you know I am more amazed than upset…great to see suppliers like that.

Who knows why these things happen. I placed an order last week for many bottles of Howard Butcher Block Conditioner that I wanted to include with the end grain cutting boards I was giving to friends. Got the confirmation of the order including a “we will send another email when your order ships”. I finally got that follow on email and the tracking number showed the box was already on the truck out for delivery! Where the missing two days before sending the email went I will never know, but I didn’t care.

I took two identical packages (cutting boards Christmas presents for my nieces) to UPS just before Christmas. Processed the labels on their computers. I got the confirming email on one and not the other. Odd. Both were delivered in great condition in three days. Who knows why the second email didn’t go through.

Yes, the vendors and shippers could and should do a lot better with the tracking information.

You ask if you are entitled to anything. I think you are entitled to keep and use the sanding drums and enjoy the projects you make with them. That’s about it. Maybe try another supplier to see if they can get the record keeping straight.

I think you are entitled for all your money back plus unspecified damages for psychological distress caused by the shock when you received your drums unexpected.

I think you missed my point! The package arrived before their notification (which I think is more a problem for the shippers than the vendor)! Now it might be a problem where “porch pirates” lurk (sadly a growing problem but that is “redistribution”). I was actually giving “kudos” to the vendor…I didn’t expect to see that box until next week!

Is it possible the notification email is in your spam folder?

And you say you do not complain much !

Will let you know how they work! Was finishing some “tea-trays” where I needed to clean out the handle holes only to find that my old expandable drums had exceeded their life expectancy. Bought a Chinese kit locally (slip fit) and made it work but they will be on Jim’s “useless tool” thread. I really didn’t expect to see that box until next week and since porch pirates are not a problem around here (might have something to do with all the NRA decals) I just thought I’d send out a positive post about the vendor.

You know a good lawyer? LOL…Btw I’m hetero male white Christian…we never win nuthin (other than when I win the Powerball tonight). Hope LJ has a 501©(3) organization in place…Anybody winning that is going to wish they hadn’t…the rest of their life is going to consumed with how to dispose of it before they die…I’d prefer to play in my sawdust.

Have your say...
