I have a newbie question for you what is the difference between a Midi Lathe and a Mini Lathe other than 1 letter difference in the name? :)

It’s semantics, as far as I can tell. I have a Jet 1220, and have seen it referred to as a midi. It has handles on it,and my 57 year old wore out body with bad knees carried it down the basement steps . It’s a mini the way I’m looking at it.

From what I’ve seen thee difference is size. Mini is up to 10” and midi are 12” and up. All of both class are short spindle length, although a lot have bed extentions.

Just my opinion.
