Topic tags/keywords: humor toy mechanism eureka

Hi everyone;

I have a request to build a sort of wooden ‘automata’, for lack of a better word. The one i’m looking for was featured in a woodworking magazine recently, and also someone here on lumberjocks built one and posted pics. (it may have even been the original designer)

I have searched for it here, but am not sure how to describe it in a search window, and cannot find it.

It remember that it is a wooden face of a man, with a rotating handle or crank on the side, and there is a question mark over the guy’s head in one rotation or turn of the handle, and then a lightbulb pops up over his head as the handle is turned and he has the “Eureka!” moment.

If anyone here can steer me toward a plan—or even pics—of that, I’d be very appreciative. Thanks.
