Just wanted to tell ya’ll about my Craigslist score that I picked up today for $125.00.

Although this is an image from Grizzly’s web site, the drill press I picked up today is the same. It’s in perfect condition with just one small spot of rust on the column.
This is replacing a Ryobi benchtop model that I’ve never been happy with as it has too much runout.
So, did I get a deal?

Is it a bench top or floor model? How many speeds? I like the tilting head over tilting the table. I think you did just fine. A new bench top cheapy runs around 70$ with out a radial head.

Less than 1/2 price and no shipping… yep. I’d say you got a deal !

It’s the bench-top model. 5 speed. I need to put it back together tonight (head is off the column for ease of loading/unloading). Then I get to start playing. Only thing holding me back is it’s damn cold in the garage!!!

that would be about 360 shipped to my house so 125 is a great deal.
ya know you can convert it into a floor model pretty easy.

Nice. Clean the column with spirits and wax it. It’ll travel smoother and keep the rust away.

Yes, that was a deal! I own the Harbor Freight model made back in the late 90’s, floor model, and I refuse to get rid of it.
