ordered a Jet jps 10 with 30 inch fence from Wood Craft – they sent a saw and fence no rails – called Jet – no rails were on the order , 2 calls to Wood Craft customer service – neither one knew what a fence or rails were – they had heard of table saws – kept no record of my call – fence showed up 10 days later – 20 days after the order – no hardware package to attach rails with, seems that Wood Craft does not have people who know anything about wood working tools , and somewhere in the mix – Jet would have figured out that the tablesaw needs fence /rails and hardware to function – especially after I called Jet to make sure that the order from Wood Craft needs to be reviewed, was to be an xmass present upgrade from the Ridgid table that I have – which will not stay aligned(been fighting it for a year), guess Saw Stop will be my next try

I had an issue with a DeWalt DW745 table saw folding/rolling stand I ordered. It was missing two plastic tube plugs and the bolts to attach the handle assembly. I called customer service with the part numbers and a few days later I got the bolts only. I called back and said ‘you forgot the plastic plugs, again giving the part number. And I also said that my stand was the newest model so make sure the plugs have two holes in them. A few days later I get the old model plugs. I call back again and finally got the right parts. Each time I called I talked to a woman who probably only had call center experience, and judging by how she screed up the order twice not much experience at that. I will give them an A for effort though, they were never really phased and apologetic all the time.

Heard back from Jet – they are sending the hardware package out, then the rep informed me that it is actually my fault because I should have inspected everything at delivery before I signed, explained that you cannot unwrap a table saw – also that you need the manual to review the parts list , and the driver cannot sit on the side of the road for 30 minutes for this to be done (after you cut the box apart to get at the table saw) – she still insisted it was my fault, Wood Craft – had to call tech support to get any help – received a call back that the hardware pack will be sent out, still have no functional saw and my vacation time is gone

Soooooo…. if you opened the saw and unwrapped EVERYTHING and found bolts missing you should have refused the delivery and they would have to eat return shipping? Those people are morons. I hope they read this.

I used to be a Jet lover, not anymore! I have had similar experiences with Jet and have found they have made so many parts obsolete that I’ll never buy Jet again. Those types of phone conversations drive me nuts, especially if you are talking to a customer service person who knows nothing about what you ordered. It used to be the customer was always right, now it’s buyer beware.

I know how you feel. I have gone through the same obsolete parts issue with Delta and have sworn off on them. I only have two Jet tools, an air cleaner and my most recent machine purchase, a drum sander. The Drum sander come in perfect condition with every part in the box. I hope I don’t need to get any replacement parts if they are going down the same path that Delta has.

I would have to say that by far the best presentation of parts and assembly instructions were for my SawStop. All of the parts were grouped in batches that were shrink wrapped on cardboard backer sheets.

Have your say...
