I was interested in the steel city surface planer before those fizzled out. I’m now considering the Cutech planer since it seems every other planer is just a knockoff of the others. The cutech planer I’m interested in (40200hc-t) comes with the “spiral” head that I’d have to invest in if I choose to go a different direction.
I’ve read the limited reviews on the Cutech planers. Is there really any reason I should refrain from going with this planer? I’m asking because I’m not entirely sure what I’ve missed in my own comparison between it and the other contenders (delta, ridgid, porter cable.) I have reservations on the dealt models because of the quality/price ratio I ‘ve been reading. In all honesty, this is the reason I’m leaning towards the Cutech planer of the others.
I’m interests in guidance since I’m getting ready to make my largest (most expensive) tool purchase to date. I’d be interested in a good used machine but there’s not a lot of good buys here in central California without driving some distance for a mediocre machine.
