About 2 years ago I purchased a new Kobalt K7045V air compressor. It is from Lowe’s. It stated on the tank it has a 3 year warranty.
Last night it made some really horrendous noises, and finally, it got so loud I had to shut it down. I took a look and the small pulley on the motor had worked itself loose. In the process of doing so it threw off the key and the small hold down tore the utter stuffing out of the keyway in the shaft.
I tried a new key, but since the shaft was so banged up it wouldn’t fit. The pulley is pretty chewed up also. I gave up trying to fix it about 9:30 last night.
Went out to look again this morning and wrote down the 800 number on the tank and called it, but the woman who answered said that they only handled parts for appliances, not air compressors. I looked around some more and found another 800 number and called it.
This was the air compressor hotline! This EXTREMELY nice woman answered, and I told her my story. She said that the motor only comes with a 1 year warranty. She then took my name and address and put me on hold for about 2 minutes.
She came back on the line and said my new motor, key and pulley should arrive at my house early next week!!!! I couldn’t thank her enough. I even called back about 10 minutes later to thank her again!
THANK YOU WHOEVER YOU ARE YOU BEAUTIFUL HUMAN BEING! And thank you Lowe’s for hiring such a nice person.
