Topic tags/keywords: humor maple hand plane milling

Hello All,

No earth shattering news here just wanted to share the great feeling it is to actually get some shop time, time that has been extremely rare of late. I finally bought a new space heater; a 4800 watt electric, only worked my required hours at the Centre (no overtime, or volunteering as Jenn puts it, today :-). The heater brought the shop up from +2 to about 12 degrees in about an hour… it actually was beginning to feel stuffy as I was planing my drawer pieces flat. Talking about planing I really really like my LV bevel up plane (see my avatar!) whisper thing shavings of some difficult maple and I am really starting to appreciate what a good plane feels like. I thought planing was a chore before (with my old #4) now I am having a blast …the hockey game on the radio, the schwoosh of the plane and curls of maple filling my bench …. ahhh what a great way to unwind from work…blast I shouldn’t have thought of work now it all comes crashing back :-) Ah well I will go to sleep tonight snuggled up to Jenn and dream of her and whisper thin maple shavings…

Good night all!

It’s good to hear you got some shop time. The demands of work can always be strenuous, so getting out there and just relaxing is nearly the best feeling in the world. Next to snuggling of course.

I was just given 24 hrs. to get three quotes to upgrade a generator in one of our offices.!!! The computers connect to the generators so that makes it IT related. :)
