Topic tags/keywords: website blog social media sharing help question tips

I am just getting started with “sharing my projects/builds” with the online community – YouTube, Facebook, etc. I see a lot of neat and ready to navigate websites such as Jay Bates and WW4MM, and others. I looked into Wordpress, and honestly – I got lost and STUCK. I just want to find a good platform, preferably free or low cost as I am starting out. (With the option/possibility to do more as I can afford it)
I got stuck just trying to find a template, but I also want sure I was starting on the right/best platform.
I want to be able to post blog entries about projects, how to’s and also link to my YouTube videos.
Does anyone have any suggestions about starting a blog/website? Or a simple walk through on setting something up? What works/worked for you?
I would appreciate any help/suggestions.

I started a Weebly site, but I haven’t done much on it yet. I used one for my classroom when I was teaching, and it was really easy to use and update, and best of all, FREE. You could pay for more features and such, but the basic site was pretty good.

I started a blog on my site. I use godaddy to host my site and I used their website builder to make the site. I then added a link to my blog that I started for free on

I have posted a few blogs there, but to be honest I have found this site to be easier to use, it doesn’t offer as many bells and whistles, but if woodworkers are your target audience, this is the place. I have mimicked a few of my posts both here and my site, but lumberjocks has a great blog entry. In the top right dropdown menu just hit start new blog. As for the youtube, best of luck. I have been trying to get that up and running and it is tedious. Hope this was helpful.

Start RIGHT HERE at LJs. You can post all your projects and lots of folks put links to their YouTube vids as well.

You can cross post your stuff to FaceBook (and probably other social websites too)

Oh yeah… WELCOME to LJs
