SOLD!

I have a Stanley #7, Type 4 that I picked up and started restoring nearly 3 years ago. Had to put it on hold when we moved a couple years ago and haven’t done anything with it since, except move it around the shop who knows how many times. I’ve got too much going on to be able to finish the restore on this one, even though it wouldn’t take much, so I’m looking to find a new home for it.

Japanning is about 50 to 60% there. All pieces are there. Tote and knob both were in two pieces and I glued them both back together. The gentleman I purchased it from said it was his grandfathers and that at some point it sat in a basement of water for a little while – it was extremely rusty until a bath in some citric acid. There is some minor pitting throughout the plane. The blade doesn’t have much life left and also has some pitting, so it’ll need a new one. It does have the initials “J.A.S.” stamped on each side. No cracks in any of the castings.

$70 + $17 shipping. Will ship in a USPS Priority Flat Rate Game Box, disassembled as much as I need to in order to get it packed well to avoid breaking anything in transit. If you want insurance beyond the $50 that USPS offers with their flat rate boxes, that would be up to you.

Some pictures. I can take and provide more, as requested. Thanks for looking!
