I have shopped with MLCS for years and have always been happy with their products and service, but not any more.
Just before Christmas I decided I needed more 1/4 inch router bits and they had a sale on their large sets. In the add they listed free lube and collet extention with their 30, 45, and 66 bit sets, so I said “Bonus” and ordered the 45pc 1/4 in set. I received my order and only received the lube and assumed the collet was backordered and would arrive soon. Today i got tired of waiting and called them, they tell me that “only the 1/2 in sets that got the extension and it was clearly stated in the ad”, I pointed out that it didn’t specify only 1/2” in their add and if they add was read as they suggested then I shouldn’t have received the free lube with my 1/4” set, the way it was printed it looked like you got the items and could choose 1/4” or 1/2”. They then offered to sell me the 1/2” collet extension for 1/2 price plus shipping, I said so I pay 15 bucks more plus shipping and I get what I thought I was getting in the first place. Customer service is going downhill more everyday.
I realize that this is minor and a matter of samantics and advertising mumbo jumbo, but it pisses me off…
