I’ve been looking at different CNC machines and they were really out of my price range for the hobbyist woodworker that I am, not to mention that I know very little about them other than the basic concept of them. Then Inventables had a Black Friday sale for the X-carve 1000mm machine with some upgraded components, so I pulled the trigger. I received it about a week ago and I’m in the process of putting it together as time permits. An hour here and an hour there. The written instructions and the videos that accompany each step are really quite good. I would love to have a full day to work on it but during the final 2 weeks before Christmas, that isn’t going to happen! Anyway, I just thought I’d share the woodworking gift that I gave to myself and I’m really excited to learn how to use the machine. I can’t think of a better way to spend my Winter!

Congrats on your early gift. I would love one for myself someday.

I look forward to seeing what you make.

Have your say...
