Does anyone know what this clamp is used for? It is a jorgensen 2208, has a pivot on it.

this is a total stab in the dark, but guessing from the holes in the swivel plate i would say you could mount it on the bottom of your bench. it would swing down and hang when not in use and then just swing it up when you need it.

I think hungryJ has got it right. Do the pivoting plates slide into the track? With the track mounted under the bench, you can slide the clamp sideways when you’re ready to clamp, then swing the clamp up into position.

What Hungryj says makes a lot of sense. That’s a very interesting clamp set up nonetheless.
