Topic tags/keywords: tip firefox video download helper

The other day, Maluco posted a link for free “old” New Yankee Workshop videos being shown on the New Yankee Workshop web site. Over the years, I have taped a bunch of the shows, but missed these. After watching the first one, I thought it would be nice if I could complete my collection.

As many of you know, saving videos, from the Internet, is not always as easy as we think it should be. As a Firefox user, I went in search of an Add On to make this task easier. Please note- there may also be a similar Add On for Internet Explorer of which I am note aware.

Anyway, this is what I found and it works well not only downloading/saving videos but also in converting videos to various formats. It can be found here.

Thanks a bunch Lew.
My son is helping me get all of them and they are great.
Like you, I had some but not all and I’m trying to get them all.
Then, I can play them back on my shop monitor and build along with Norm.
“Yeah, Norm and I are building a few things in the shop”.....lol

I use a program called TubeMaster ++ It is free and very easy to use. It will record almost any video that plays on your pc and will convert it to any of several formats so that you can save it for viewing on your pc, or burn it to a dvd. I useed it to capture the router videos that were discussed here a few months ago and I’ve since burned them all to a dvd so I can watch them on the big screen.

GMman , the “favorites” thing only works as long as the site retains the video….ask me how I know : )

Thank you lew for this great link !! : )

GMman , I have several links saved in my favorites that lead to no where now that the sites have done away with the items , or are no longer online themselves. The favorites only save the links , the items themselves aren’t saved in your computer. If you don’t believe me , unplug your pc from your internet connection and then try to watch whatever you’ve saved to your favorites. : )
