Was wondering what would be a fair price. They have barely been used at all.
The first one is a Dan’s Whetstone I bought new for $143.27.
It is the 8” x 2” x 1” hard black

The other one is Robert Larson Soft Arkansas stone 8” x 2” x 1”

Thanks.

I wouldn’t pay more than 1/3 retail price, especially if its sight unseen.

I don’t know who Robert Larsen is, but I know Dan personally. His stones are top quality, and have been around for a long time and will be around long after we’re gone. I am surprised at how much the stones cost though. I usually get the rejects and make arrowheads and other blades from them.

Heck, I have 2 stones 1” x 8” x 10”. With those prices stated above, it seems it should be a crime to beat them into arrowheads. .......... Jerry (in Tucson)

They are very expensive but worth every penny. Dan spends a lot of time lapping the stones dead flat. I used to use waterstone because I couldnt find good arkansas stones like my grandfathers. Then I got one from Dans and sold my waterstones. I got a hard translucent from him a while back and dont really use the black much. And those would be nice arrowheads. Would love to have one.
