What type of outlet would I need to energize when I started a tool. To be specific I would like my vacuum connected to my miter saw to come on when I pulled the trigger of my miter saw.

I bought this from lee valley a while ago. I have it connected to my miter saw and a drum sander. Works great.

+1 I could give you a detailed wiring diagram on how to run a wire from the trigger of your saw to an outlet but for $50 you can unplug the one suggested.
