It looks like theres some interest in doing the sketchup drawings. Now we just have to come up with the Project and then start drawing up the plans. This post is about two things. #1 committing to a project. #2 committing to be involved.

I propose we build a Game Table. Please leave your comments as to if that is a good first project.

Secondly, If you are interested in participating in this build please sign up in this topic.

If you are not sure what I am talking about please see my previous topics here:

If you are interested in helping with the sketchup sign up here:

Hi Keith,

A game table might be a good idea. Especially if we don’t get too many volunteers for building since it could be as simple or complex as we want. It could be divided into a base, pedestal and a table top… or two, depending on the design.

I have never designed a game table but I did design a trestle table about six months ago that may spark some creative juices flowing for someone.

Here is the SketchUp perspective:

And here is the finished table:

Maybe I should stop and see your shop some day, I don’t think we are that far away from each other. I drive from LA to La Jolla almost every Tuesday and I think you are somewhere in between aren’t you?

Bothus, Thank you for the reply on this. I have always been fond of the Trestle look, and it adds a little more complexity to the project. Which I also like.
You can stop by the shop in Costa Mesa any time. Or if you want to see the work I have posted here on LJs you can swing by the garage shop. Just let me know. Tuesday evenings I’m not around though, so you may just have to swing by the shop in Costa Mesa. PM me if you’re interested.

Kieth, it kind of depends on what you guys build and if I feel I am capable and have the tools to do it.

I’m with Topamax—depends on the “what” and the “ability”
