wecheer flex shaft question

i have the wecheer rotary and carving tool kit its the we320
i am just getting into power carving and this is actually my first power tool
the problem i am having or wondering if its even a problem is that the shaft from the flex shaft is sliding in and out freely i was using the reciprcator and using it like normal it started having a burning smell so i quit and took it off and the shaft from the flex shaft started to fall out i hooked the rotary tool back up and it worked fine the only problem is when i take it off the shaft slides out of the flex shaft really easily i am wondering if this is normal any help would help

I do not really have answer to the issue you are having with your flex shaft. I own a heavy duty flexible shaft ( Taiwan made). It has a retaining collar at both end that holds the shaft from slipping out of the hose. Check if yours has both collars.

I have this tool, and from what you are describing, that’s normal. Mine is the same way. I don’t know about the burning smell, though.
