I have not used them but have used Global Tooling & Supply very pleased with the quality and price.

You can get Powertec knives off Amazon for around $15. I’ve never used them, but others seem to have been satisfied with them. Freuds are about $25-$30. Free shipping if you are a Prime member… or get a dial indicator set along with them to push you over that $35 limit for free shipping :)

Everyone with a jointer needs a dial indicator!

Cheers,
Brad

PS: You can also probably have your existing knives sharpened, or sharpen them yourself. Around here they get about $1 an inch, so for 3 six inch knives, that would be about the same as set of new ones. I typically will buy a new set and have the old ones sharpened so I have a spare set ready to go.

Holbren and global tooling are two good sources for jointer knives. It’s still pretty cheap to replace jointer knives, and they seem to be of good quality.

Also check out the Snap-Check from chipsfly.com for setting jointer knives.

I have bought the Powertech knives from Amazon for my 6” Ridgid jointer. I thought they were a nice product and would buy again.

I used to agonize over knives. Why would two knives that look identical and be made from the same steel be priced so differently? I, too have bought Powertec and have no complaints. I think they’re all pretty much the same. At least the popular options with feedback.
