Got a sweet deal on craigslist for a 36-978 for $200. Best $200 I ever spent….great shape, little use…long story short I need to rewire it for 240 volt. The manual doesn’t say much. I have the correct plug and the electric taken care of in the garage. Has anyone done this? is there any better pictures or description of how to rewire the motor? any help would be great thanks -- Mike, Portage, WI |

Look inside the connection plate on teh motor, there should be a diagram there. -- "some old things are lovely, warm still with life ... of the forgotten men who made them." - D.H. Lawrence |

It’s a pretty simple rewire too Mike. You’ll be done in 5 minutes. Congrats on the saw deal….get it setup well, and find a good deal on a nice blade. -- Happiness is like wetting your pants...everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warmth.... |

”got the Ridgid multi-purpose blade that was highly recommended…can’t remember the # off hand” That should narrow it to the Ridgid Titanium R1050C (made by Freud)...? (LOL…can’t imagine one of their stock blades being ”highly recommended”!) -- Happiness is like wetting your pants...everyone can see it, but only you can feel the warmth.... |
