Topic tags/keywords: question elm burl finishing veneering

What finish to use on Carpathian Elm burl? I have it on small bookcase sliding doors (1’ by 1’). I like to use poly on everything, but then thought may be burl requires some “special” treatment. Please, let me know before I ruined it.

Have you decided what to use? I am just starting out with this woodworking thing so I can’t offer any helpful advice but I am curious as to what you finally decided to do. I generally use thick paint to cover the many ‘design adjustments’ I make LOL!

Mark, I think I’ll go with clear polyurethane as usual.
