Hi guys and girls, I am new to the forum, from Texas. I am getting into milling some mesquite. I have a burl that I have been working on. I have two pieces that are good for turning and several slabs that measure 40” L X 27”W X 2” I want to sell these to fund some other wood working projects. I will post pics tomorrow. Thanks.

Welcome aboard! LJs is a great place to learn all kinds of things about woodworking. It will be interesting to see the pictures of that burl.

If you are interested in the burl for turning, I am asking $40 plus shipping, UPS ground or Fedex. I am new to this and I wish I had a way to turn it as it is a pretty piece of mesquite. All of this is still wet as I don’t have a way to dry properly yet. Thanks.

Have you sealed the burls so they won’t check using something like AnchorSeal? I am interested if the burl isn’t all cracked and checked.

No, this wood was milled yesterday and mesquite doesn’t have problems with checking and cracking like other woods. Mesquite is like concrete.

Ok, I’ll take the burl. Let me know how you want to be paid. Paypal?

I just sent a message to Padre, I think he wants the turning burl in the picture. It weighs 32 lbs. The other one that I didn’t take a picture of is a little different in shape but probably weighs about the same. I will measure and take a pic of it tomorrow. I will hold the second one for you RJ. Thanks, Rooney
