Hi Guys, I’d like to replace my standard circular saw 24-tooth blade with a good quality, general purpose blade. In the May, 2009 edition of Wood Magazine, they recommended a Freud TK303, 40-tooth, thin-kerf blade. Looking on Freud’s website, I can’t find a listing for that model number. I’m assuming it’s been discontinued already? Anyway, does anyone have a good recommendation? Thanks much in advance! -- Dean |

Freud are nice. Use them and Forrest! Check them out. A little pricey but well worth the results you will get. Eric -- Eric "That's all very well and human, but when will you stop having to apologize and start doing your very best you can? When will you begin?" |

Dean – The Freud TK/Avanti line was discontinued as of June 2009. You might still be able to find some remaining stock in stores, but be aware that HD has is now offering a cheap Chinese knockoff line called “Avanti” and “Avanti Pro”...the quality and appearance of the knockoff line is not even close to the Freud, is not made by Freud, and has nothing to do with Freud. You should be able to find a very similar blade in the Freud Diablo line, or possibly the Freud Industrial line. Freud and Freud “Diablo” are brands I trust. Stay away from the Chinese junk whenever possible. Infinity blades are good too. -- bill@magraphics.us |

Thanks everyone for your help! I’ll pick up a Freud 40-tooth for my saw, so I can start on my bathroom cabinet. -- Dean |
