Topic tags/keywords: casters furniture chairs repair wood

I’m not sure I have the right forum. This is my first post!

I have beautifully carved wood dining chairs which currently have awful round casters. Some have broken off, they pick up pet hair like crazy, and I just don’t want to replace these casters with more casters. I need a “fixed” solution—don’t really want my dining chairs rolling all over my wood floor anyway! The fronts of the chair circular at the bottom; the backed are rectangular. (Hope I can figure out how to post pics!) Does anybody have a simple solution ? If I just remove the casters, the chairs are about 3” too short!
Do I have any options? Thanks!!

You can get feet to fit the existing caster posts, I put something similar on a table I refinished and didn’t want wheels on the tile, the site for the feet in the pic is here

Hi ChefHDan, thanks for your reply!

I checked out your suggestion, and those look like a possible solution! Thanks! I was hoping to find a cheaper solution (that’s about $168 for the four chairs…, so I’ll shop around. At least I know what I’m looking for! I appreciate the response :)
Would you happen to have a photo of the table you used these on?

Would theses work? $23/set of 5.

Sorry Debbie missed the request, here’s the pics, it’s a QS white oak table with a split post that seats 14 with all 4 leaves. 1914 patent was stamped on the post hardware. It didn’t have the casters when my wife found it in an antique mall, walked out with it & the 4 leaves for $75. It took about a month for me to refinish it, because I didn’t know about filling oak grain then & learned the lesson the hard way. I had the 4 feet from an office chair that came with feet and casters so they were free to me and since the floor is black they almost disappear.
