I am new to Lumberjocks…today.
Have been turning for awhile but am still an amateur.
I am trying to find information on hollowing jigs.
I’m mostly interested in the Monster jig type.
Can’t find any recent items on it, is it still around?
One article from 2011 mentions 3 PDFs of the jig, are they still around? I can’t figure out how to send a private email on this site, it says I have to have 5 posts first.
Any and all help appreciated.

Welcome to LumberJocks.

You will have to do several posts (questions or replies) before the private message function works.

So, now you know. Get busy and post 4 more questions, and then don’t pm me as I don’t have an answer for you.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. You’ll learn a lot if you don’t pay any attention to my replies.. lol…....... Jerry

I just bought a Hollow Fast system (http://www.amazon.com/Hollow-Fast-System-Post-Mount/dp/B008D5H88G/ref=sr_1_2?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1447091272&sr=1-2&keywords=hollow+fast), and am very pleased with the result. I bought the post mount vs. tailstock mount because of the 24 in bed on my lathe. I also had to buy a larger clamp block and do a little reengineering. Nothing serious.

You might be looking for something heavier-duty, but I’ll throw this out anyway …

I have a Harrison Specialty Simple Hollowing system … I have been very happy with it and have done hollow forms up to 9” deep. Here’s their website: http://www.harrisonspecialties.com/simple-hollowing-system/

I like Monster & other systems that let you use M2 or M4 HSS square cutters as well as carbide cutters. You can buy a lot of HSS cutters for not much money. HSS square cutters easy to cut if need & or sharpen.

Regardless whether buy articulating or captured system both allow you to add bars, cutters or whatever meets your need later.

Thanks for all the prompt replies.
I am leaning toward the Monster system…although the simple hollow system looks very good also.
I like the idea of a 110 volt laser.
