Hi Guys,
I’m looking for a set of plans for turning a traditional Christmas Nutcracker soldier. Does anyone know where I can find some info on this?

Did you ever find plans for these. I did a quick search and found nothing really useful, but dud find a lot of interesting trivia to get lost in though :-)

Hi Mark,
I haven’t found anything on turning a nutcracker. But you’re right, the amount of trivia is a good read.

I am also thinking about tackling this for next Christmas (2011). I will let you know if I find anything. Please let me know if you find anything as well.

I haven’t turned anything yet and do not have a lathe, but it’s over a year away, so that shouldn’t stop me.

We’ve got numerous nutcrackers around the house in our growing collection, some of which are the handmade German ones from the Erzgebirge (Ore Mountains), so I might have to study those and come up with my own plans.

In continuing to go through the LJ links, I did come across this one that you might be interested in at least looking at if you haven’t seen it already. It’s got a link in the first post to a PDF document:

Have your say...
