Last night we had a very large fire in Town.
Half a block went up in smoke, six businesses, furniture store, large club, two hairderessing shop, daycare, lawyers building and on the second floor eight apartments.
No one was hurt.
A Motel that was closed up for the winter months opened up for the homeless people.
Looked at it today and all is flat to the ground.

Looks like a furnace in the basement of the Club??
Those are very old buildings all close together.

That is very tragic especially during the Christmas season! I hope those folks that are displaced from home or jobs will be taken care of.

I was on Broadway in Grand Falls at about 1039 hrs yesterday for a conference on Pleasant Sreet. Broadway was closed in part” At the conference I inquired why, that’s when I was told about the major fire. Quite a lost for Grand Falls, but as Marcel Deschenes was saying last night on CBC, the folks in Grand Falls will get over this and be stronger.
