Ok.i need a little help with solutions for heating my new shop. It is not quite the time to purchase a heater, but we are getting close. I am running a 1” gas line from the house to the shop to supply the fuel for the heat source. The shop is 25×30 with 10’ white steel ceilings. Walls insulated to r19 and ceilings will be blown fiberglass insulation at r50. My main questions are:
Anyone out there use gas radiant tube heater? Do you like them? If your wood/projects are not directly underneath the heater are there still issues?
Forced air benefits? How about mounting furnace in rafters? Has anyone done that and how do you like it? I am looking at Hot Dawgs and Reznors separated combustion units.
I am NOT interested in electric heat, wood/wood pellets, propane, or oil.
Thoughts are greatly appreciated!
