Topic tags/keywords: question walnut

Just acquired this slab of Black Walnut and I’m looking for some ideas. It is approximately 36” across and 3 1/2 thick. This was next to a stack of walnut that was cut for firewood a year ago. There is about two cords of walnut that is all cut into 14” length of which I can have all I want. (it was a very good day)

You can square it and cut quarter sawn slices and arrange them to make an end grain cutting board. Other pieces can go on the lathe or carved with some of the bark intact at certain areas.
