Finishing my humidor, QUESTION!!

what I would do is finish the bottom 1st then set it on 3 painters pyramids while the finish is wet and then finish the remaining sides and top. The pyramids have a point so there will only be a tiny blemish in the finish. With each coat the point will be in a different place and the blemishes will be almost invisible, plus they’re on the bottm. You can make you own pyramids by taking a small scrap of wood about 3 inches square and drive a nail or screw though it. I file the points just slightly so they don’t actually penetrate the wood.

Consider working with some scraps left over from these woods to see how they react to the stain and the finish. Just one way to make sure the finished product will match what you visualized. Easier to change your mind about which stain to use when you don’t face hours of sanding or trying to use another stain to cover up an undesirable look. There are so many more lumberjocks that are infinitely more qualified than I on this topic so I’ll just stop at this point.
