Here is a question for you experts out there. I am in need of a planer. I was looking at either JET or Powermatic 15” planers. I had a couple slip through my fingers causing complete heartbreak. I now have an opportunity for a lightly used Woodmaster 718 with the Pro Pack. He also has several hundred worth of cutter heads for the moulder. I think I can get this for $1300. My question is how good of a deal is this? My main interest right now is a planer. The idea of being able to make mouldings for my house is just a bonus.
Here is what I am up against, I found the Shop Fox W1692 15” planer brand new for $810. I called Grizzly and they told me that their H7768 Shelix (made by Byrd) for $549 will fit this planer. I would like to get some expert opinions out there. For anyone interested here is the link: http://toolsandmore.us/shopfoxw1692planer15.aspx
Thanks for your time!
