Are there skin-safe finishes any of you could recommend for ear jewelry?

Just about any kind of wax. I think carnauba is one of the hardest.

Will this wax/other waxes come off after repeated showering? the jewelry is intended to be left in

Seems the best thing would be to take them off before getting them soaking wet. Recommend this to whoever gets wooden earrings or jewelry.
