I was lucky enough to catch wind of an American Chestnut tree in the area that recently died. Made the trip to check it out and made a deal wit the landowner for the tree. Lots of shoots coming off the base- very cool. It’s a bit rotted in the trunk but there should be plenty off good wood coming out of it.

Lucky you Erik. Can’t wait to see the wood. I’m amazed at the American chestnuts you’re finding in Michigan.

Good score. May I add a heart felt “you suck”. Where I live I can only dream of your wonderful eastern hardwoods.

I might be interested in a small 12/4 slab if you would consider sending it up here?
