From reading the forums, it seems everyone really loves the Jet parallel clamps. How much better are they than the Bessey clamps? HD has Bessey on sale right now, $39.97 for a 50”. The best price I can find on a Jet is $63.00. Are they worth that much more?

The Jet clamps have some nice features, but I don’t think they are universally considered better than Bessey…I know I don’t. I would buy Jet if they saved money over the Revo’s, but there’s no way on earth I pay more.

The Bessey’s are good, just a little difficult to engage sometimes.

Don’t rule out the Jorgensons. I prefer them to either of the others. GREAT customer service at Pony, if ever needed.

One thing I would check into is the quality? I believe the Jets were rated very well for years but I think some have complained recently about the new ones quality. But don’t take my word check for yourself as I don’t know for sure. Also for the $23.00 differance I wuold say no as I have some of the Bessey.

I’ve loved the original besseys for ever. However the Groz that are the same clamp are put on sale regularly at wood craft for a 4 pack of 2 24’s and I think 36’s (i think) anyway to long and two shorts. When they go onsale for 99$ for 4 i pick up a few sets.

I’m with STE6168, I have Jorgys and wouldn’t part with them. No trouble engaging and dis engaging them. I watched for sales and closeouts and paid less than either Bessey or Jet. Starting out get a few of whatever is on sale and try them. If they don’t work out to your liking sell or swap them for something else. Also watch for shop closings and estate sales, good deals can be found. Good luck and happy clamping :-)

I have some of both types, and they’re both good. The Jet has a slightly better release switch thing for moving the head of the clamp, but once you get used to either, they’re completely fine. They both have large, comfortable handles that allow you to really crank on them. They both have sturdy, thick bars and big clamping heads.

I’d buy whatever you can get a good deal on.

The yearly JET 50% off clamp sale is in a month. Some places will have free shipping.

Well, it’s done, the Bessey clamps are ordered. I managed to get an additional 10% off via chat while asking them to use my lowes competitor coupon. If the Jet sale comes around next month, I’ll pick up some of them. You can never have too many clamps.

I have both and I always reach for the Jets first mainly because I like the lever tab and the handles are bigger.

I also picked up several at the black Friday sale at WC last year.

I bought some Bessey’s while they were on sale and used them for the first time this weekend. They make such a huge difference. I love it. If Jet goes on sale next month for half off I’ll spend another $250 there too. I definitely could use more clamps.
