I don’t have any experience with Canwood jointers but I do have a Canwood dual drum sander. It is absolutely identical to General International except for the paint and a slight difference in the base, unrelated to the actual tool.

Canwood is a brand that used to be carried by House of Tools. I used to shop at the one in Victoria and all the Canwood tools they had were a beige color like my sander. Maybe they just stopped painting them differently because that looks like General International colour.

As far as quality, I like my sander. General International is offshore built unlike the real General tools were but I think they have a decent reputation for what they are and what they cost.
