Someone wants me to make a wedge table like this:

But I have heard that this would be a bad idea because the wood would shrink and expand causing gaps. Do you think this can be done? How do I avoid the wood movement problem? The guy in the video seems to know what he is doing but I don’t speak spanish.

That can be done with veneer.
