I have removed the ACME bolt from inside the chuck. Inserted a 1/2” allen wrench into the chuck and hit the allen wrench with the flat side of my Estwing in a ccw direction. Inertia isn’t helping as the armature turns with the chuck. Any suggestions?

Most if not all chuck retention screws are left hand thread.

@ Nubsnstubs same problem cw the armature moves before the chuck breaks loose.

@bigblockyeti The ACME ( left hand thread) bolt is already out. It’s the female thread in the chuck that won’t separate from the threaded armature shaft. I may have to remove the front housing and pull the armature out so I can keep it from turning when I swat the allen wrench.

It usually takes a very hard impact to break a chuck loose from the spindle, the spindle will be right hand thread.
