Hello I am a shop teacher and my school’s shop has an old Rockwell planer that has the table stuck on it. I’ve ran over and over the thing looking for a model and a serial number but can’t find one.

I’ve taken off the panel on the side and my fear is that the table was lowered all the way down until it slipped off the screw/ worm gear? One of my students got a board stuck and lowered the thing the whole way down.

Does anybody know where I might find info on this planer or have any advice for dealing with a table stuck all the way down?

Thank you very much!

I believe that one is a four post, right, if so sounds like the chain has stretched and jumped a cog.
