What is the best book on staining and finishing that you guys recommend to a beginner to average wood worker. I think i could really benefit from a good informative book.

What’s your criteria?
Projects?
Woods?
Finishes?
Materials?
Skills?

My favorite books on finishing are:
Understanding Wood Finishing – How to select and apply the right finish – Bob Flexner
and
Finishes & Finishing techniques – Taunten Press / FWW

Bob Flexner’s book is a must !

I will second Gene’s recommendation on Bob Flexner. Another author who gives excellent advice is Jeff Jewitt. Here are some of his works.

The Flexner book is the best. Jewitt’s books are quite good too.
