Time has come to purchase some cutter heads for doing raised panel doors on my 1 1/4” shaper with power feed. I am not really to sure of which brand to purchase, but I have been quoted around $2600.00 plus tax for a Royce//ayr raised panel cutter with rub collar and back cutter, a rail cutter and a stile cutter. By the time this would be delivered it would be around $3000.00. These cutter heads are all insert tooling.

I am not really to sure if I want to spend that kind of money, so I am wondering if you guys are familiar with Freud or Laguna. I am wondering about the Freud RP-2000 does anyone know if a back cutter can be used with it? Any information would be appreciated.

A more versatile and cost effective way to go is with a 100mm serrated safety head and have knives made as needed.
