Hey Folks,

I am somewhat of a new transplant out in the SF Bay Area - located in the East Bay. I am a Boston native and I used to haunt all the old flea markets and antique stores in northern MA and So New Hampshire for old tools. Now that I am out here, there doesn't seems to be the same availability for old tools, or I just don't know the right places to look. Does anyone in he east bay have a recommendation or two for good places to hunt? I think there is a flea market in Alameda on certain weekends, but other than that I am not aware of anything. I would appreciate any help!

Thanks folks.

I can't speak for the East Bay, but a 1.5 hour drive will get you to Roseville (Sacramento area) which has a HUGE flea market. Google "denio's" market in Roseville.

Thank you everyone - I will make it to all of these and hopefully scoop you on goodies. If you see a giant guy at these shows (6' 10" tall and about 400 lbs on a good day) sah hi! Name is Joe and I would love to meet you.

Has anyone been to the flea market in Alameda? Is it good for tools? Worth the effort?

I hope to be able to post some recovered treasures on here soon. I love planes and chisels. I will post a gloat pic of my set of Japanese sword steel chisels. They are absolutely gorgeous. And they cut like buttah.

Thanks again folks - I really appreciate your help!

Joe
