Hey fellow woodworkers. I had the opportunity to buy two slabs the other day and the seller and I could not figure out what kind of wood it was. I’m a novice woodworker at best so my guess doesn’t count for much haha.
Slab 1

Slab 2

So far i agreed to buy them and a couple hours later the seller is backing out of the deal. Still interested in what you guys think in case he decides to sell it again.

The second one could be walnut, though I’m not sure.

yeah, I’ve heard walnut and redwood and cedar from some friends, but none of us are too sure of ourselves.

I know! I can’t believe the guy is changing his mind on selling it after we agreed on price.
