Topic tags/keywords: dewalt dw733 tool planer

Hi, I ran across a Dewalt DW733 at a local shop. It’s priced at $250 and the only thing I can see that’s wrong is it’s missing the handle on top, which I can replace for about $15. No clue whether it works and the return policy is a little iffy. Any ideas whether this would be a good purchase?

Thanks,

Zig

Is this another one of those “humor” posts? If they won’t demo it for you, don’t bother.

A new DW734 at Lowe’s is $399. Half of $400 is $200. Demo it, if it works then offer him $185. I don’t pay a premium for used power tools (unless they are collectible). It will never fetch $250 if you resell it.

Yeah, I have no clue how they progress through the models. Never-the-less, don’t pay more than 1/2 of the retail price for it, if it’s working.
