I know this is a hand tool thread but I made it with all hand tools if that counts. The drawer is lighter than the rest of the piece I was wondering if you would leave it or even laminate birds eye maple on it. Please ignore the mess still setting up shop but trying to work at the same time. Thanks

I would leave it. It looks intentional, and I like the contrast. Looks like cherry, so it’ll darken on its own over time. If you want to speed it up, stick it out in the sunlight. Nice looking table.

Thanks buddy. I think I will leave it like that. It is the Chris Schwarz table from Woodworking magazine. I put watco cherry danish oil and will follow up with behlin paste wax.

Agree, looks nice just the way it is.
