Topic tags/keywords: hand tools marking gauge bench bat paring blocks tool box dvd

Hey folks. I saw this add today on LJ Tommy MacDonalds MLW website today.

http://www.mlwwoodworking.com/online-store.html

I’m lucky enough to already own the 4-Pak and love it. A couple of other LJ’s have already posted very favorable reviews here. Now is your chance to put it on your Christmas List or get one for a woodworking friend.

I’ve heard others say what a good set it is.

No, the bench bat doesnt have teeth, but for it’s size packs a real bite.

Notottotman, Sorry for my misunderstanding. I thought you were pulling my leg and felt your first reply was funny.

A ’bench bat’ is a mallet I use with chisels when chopping out Dove Tail pin and tail waste. The MLW bench bat is shaped like a small baseball bat and is made from solid hard maple. I use mine quite often. It’s heavy enough to drive the chisel, but light enough to easily control. Fits my hands well.

Bench DOGS are pegs or blocks placed in holes on your work bench to provide ‘stops’ against which one can hold work pieces while hand planing.

If you follow the link in my post, you will see a picture of the 4-PAK on the “Home Page” or on the “On-Line Store” page.

The Bench Bat has many other uses too, such as tenderizing less expensive cuts of beef and cracking open walnuts. Ok, I know, just another attempt at poor humor.. LOL.. I can’t help myself sometimes.

Nottoman, I hope my real explaination helped.

Rat.
