I guess you could think it a bit on the funny side if it wasn’t so close to the truth!

Yes , I agree with robscastle. I remember installing flooring in his home over 35 years ago.

Joe, I wish I could say I did. We talked to his wife as far as anything that we needed answers on. I do remember the maid bringing us ice water in a sterling silver pitcher on a sterling platter. We still joke about that. I can also remember it was the top floor, like attic dormers. We installed pink carpet, yes pink. It was his time out area and from what we heard, he picked the carpet. Great experience with nice people.

Even as a kid I liked Paul Harvey. Something about his voice. Good day!

I thought a prophecy was a prediction of things to come. He was describing what was already occurring and clearly says at the end ”...keep doing what he is doing”.

The video is manipulating your emotions with current examples.

RobS888,

If the things he was talking about were already happening, it was NOT as pronounced as it is today…

I’d say the Devil has succeeded in doing everything Paul Harvey was talking about!

... which means e are in deep kaka right now… because it might be too late to clean it up. (?)

Paul Harvey always seemed to play on your emotions with all of his “Sayings”... He always gave you something to really Think about… Nothing new there… :)

To be fair it should also be pointed out that this is the mid to late 90’s adaption of the original 1964 newspaper article.

Funny how we try to “create” things to better support our beliefs. The 60’s version was good enough in my opinion but someone took the chance to turn it up a notch and in my opinion does disservice to the point he was making. I get a lot of these things from my Dad and father in law and enjoy them but then always start to do some digging as so many become twisted falsehoods used to support causes…......recently the dog on the casket photo was making its rounds (even here) but it was from the movie Max, the donkey killing the mountain lion is another one that showed up recently (again) from a relative, once again complete twisted story made to fit a cause. Bottom line search these things out as they often lose a little of WOW factor once one finds out “the rest of the story”.

If by pronounced you mean more visible, then that is true, but everything is more pronounced now than in 1964.

I was curious if crime is worse than it was in ‘64, I compiled some numbers from this site http://www.disastercenter.com/crime/uscrime.htm

Harvey may have seen a trend towards violence amongst other things that seems to have peaked in the 80s and has been dropping since then, to in the case of murder, slightly lower than it was in ‘64.
I included the other years of ‘69, ‘79, ‘89, ‘99, & ‘09 for comparison and to show that all crime got much worse then has, in most categories, fallen to 50% or less from the peaks.

We should be discussing how good things are not how bad they are.

OK… Being you disagree with Paul Harvey, :(

Maybe you want to talk about How much GOOD was produced from 2008 to NOW? :)

We’re now way OFF Topic and better shut up while we’re ahead…

I don’t necessarily disagree, I just think that rear view glasses are rose colored.

Crime got much worse than in ‘64, but has been falling significantly since the peak.

I see many GOOD things since 2008, one of the bad things just resigned, so the future, politically, should be very interesting.
