For those who may have missed it … here’s the press release:

Easy Wood Tools has been acquired by Pony Tools

It was announced this week that Pony Tools, Inc. of Chicago, IL has acquired the Easy Wood Tools company.

Craig Jackson and his wife, Donna, started Easy Wood Tools in 2008. Their Lexington, KY company makes all their tools in the U.S.A.

The Easy Wood Tools system has allowed more people to learn and enjoy woodturning by using their innovative tool flat on the tool rest and by using replaceable carbide cutters instead of learning how to sharpen traditional hand tools.

Effective August 28, 2015, Easy Wood Tools will become a part of the Pony Tools company. Craig will become the new Pony Vice President in charge of Research and Development.

For more information, visit their web site at: http://www.easywoodtools.com/about-us/

Hmmm, pretty much any time I’ve seen companies being bought out, it usually means a price increase to the retail customers.

Maybe … let’s hope not. I don’t use their tools, but can’t help but admire the Jacksons … they built their company from the ground up selling tools that are made in the USA.

I own two of their tools, doubtful I’ll ever buy another, but I wish them the best.

Rick, do you have their Easy Chuck? Are yo unhappy with the products, or just the price?
