So… I bought some rough cut lumber (white oak) from a yard up in Shelbyville, TN a few years ago. I found him on craigslist. The guy was off of Railroad Road (just off of Hwy 437). We bought the lumber to rework a cattle corral. I was able to use the extra lumber for some amazing wood working projects.

We are now ready to rework another section of the corral and I need to get in contact with this guy again, but I cannot find anything on the interweb. I have looked on craigslist and a done a dozen searches for his services. 1000bf of white oak is tough to come by in North Alabama due to the cooperage mill here.

I am calling on the locals to the area to help me out. Needing a name and phone number.

You might try Bill’s Saw Mill on Pine Grove Road in Harvest area. He doesn’t advertise much, but green stuff he sells pretty cheaply. Dried stuff too, but his kiln is small.

He probably doesn’t have 1000 bf of white oak on hand, but he can saw it to order – especially if you’ll take it green for an outdoor project.

I hated to even mention him, cause I was saving him as my private sawmiller. ;-)

He does his own logging and has a regular job too – so it may be awhile ‘for he could get it done.

Can’t help you in Shelbyville but, we’ve got a wholesaler here in Bowling Green Ky. that could fill your order and may even ship to you.
