I am about to bring in some birch I had sawed almost two years ago to use in furniture projects. It has been stickered, covered and air dried. I have been considering purchasing a moisture meter and am looking for recommendations. I have pretty well narrowed it down to the Delmhorst J-Lite or the Lignomat Mini Ligno SD. Has anyone used either? The Delmhorst is well reviewed on Amazon but I don’t find much on the Lignomat. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Mark,

I ended up with the Delmhorst. It has worked well for me on rough cut stuff. I think i will start looking at some of the pinless models. They have really come down in price recently and would work better I think for lumber milled to it’s final stage.

I’ve wondered about the pinned versus pinless meters. I guess you are right about the pinless working better on milled material as it kind of makes sense.
