i’m trying to find a way to measure or know what MT i have in my 1935 sears lathe to get a tailstock livecenter….............bob

Take the tailstock off the lathe and take it to a machine shop they might have a gauge to measure it.

I would guess a MT #2. I would think a MT#1 would be on a mini lathe or something small.

Take the tailstock to Rockler or Woodcraft )or someplace near you that sells lathes) and trial fit it.

-- No piece is cut too short. It was meant for a smaller project.

thanks guys….on another site they said all older sears lathes were #1….they also gave me a site that gave measurements up to a #6 MT….mine mic’ed to be a #1 MT….................bob

Sears lathes are #1 generally. You can find out for sure by taking your MT dimensions and figure it out with this link:
